Hi, I am Emily and this is Trevor who is a Border Terrier cross Jack Russell.  I moved to Alresford in 2012 having previously lived in Winchester and Farnham.

I used to be petrified of dogs when I was growing up, however that soon changed when my step father agreed to look after a friends dog called Zeb (the biggest Pointer I had ever seen). From that moment on I fell in love with the world of dogs.

After the success of looking after Zeb, we decided as a family it was time to get our own dog, and so in April 2000 we went along to the rescue centre near Woking and crossed paths with a cocker spaniel who we ended up naming Grog.

It was around this time that I decided I wanted to be a vet (unfortunately my grades said otherwise) so to get experience of animal handling, I started working as a saturday girl at Beryl Browns Kennels and Cattery which is based in Elstead Surrey, becoming full time during college and university holidays.

I loved being outside (even when the taps froze in the winter!) and being around the dogs and cats all day. After working at the kennels for over eight years I made the hard decision to leave to pursue a career related to my degree in Hospitality Management. But after four years working in the hospitality industry I decided I wanted to follow my passion of caring for animals and start my own dog walking and pet care service.

Rustic Paws aims to provide both owners and their pets with a professional and personal service and I very much look forward to hearing from you.

Emily
